First Night Out 17 May 2008
First Night Out will feature live performances by individuals inspired by the music of the STAR'S END radio program and The Gatherings Concert Series who have not yet had the opportunity to bring their music to an appreciative, understanding audience. First Night Out is a rare opportunity for the members of our diverse community of Spacemusic enthusiasts to hear up-and-coming new talent from the scene.
First Night Out will be held on Saturday 17 May 2008 and feature performances by local artists Roycee Martin, David Rose, The Tangent Project and Chuck van Zyl.

Stars of the Lid 3 May 2008Stars of the Lid specializes in drone-based ambient music. Their works are largely beatless soundscapes, composed of droning, effects-treated guitars along with piano, strings, and horns. Volume swells and feedback fill the gap of rhythmic instruments, providing dynamic movement within the songs. Their sound has been described as "divine, classical drone without the tedious intrusion of drums or vocals".
Stars of the Lid sold-out their Philadelphia debut at The Gatherings Concert Series on 3 May 2008. Soundscape guitarist Christopher Willits opened. Thanks to everyone who came out to the concert. Photos and commentary coming soon.

The 2007 Season at The Gatherings Concert Series was funded in part by Nepenthe Music. An independent record label out of Toledo, OH, Nepenthe Music is dedicated to the music releases of Dwight Ashley and selected projects by Tim Story and Hans-Joachim Roedelius.

The Corporation for Innovative Music and Arts of Pennsylvania
On 18 April 2003, CIMA filed Form 1023 (Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code) with the Internal Revenue Service. On 9 February 2004, the IRS determined that The Corporation for Innovative Music and Arts of Pennsylvania is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3). Donations to CIMA of PA are deductible as charitable contributions on the donor's federal income tax return.
The Gatherings CD Compilation
On 22 April 2006 CIMA of PA released a 2CD anthology made possible through the generous support of 20 individuals from The Gatherings community. The Gatherings volume 2 features excerpts from pre-year 2000 performances in The Gatherings Concert Series. All of the music included on The Gatherings volume 2 was recorded live in Philadelphia at events produced by the all-volunteer staff of The Gatherings Concert Series. The artists included on this disc are among the most recognized and talented in their field and have donated their music to help further the cause advocated by the series. The Gatherings CD Compilation
In the Summer of 2002, Synkronos Music released an anthology CD featuring excerpts from past Gatherings Concert Series concerts. The Gatherings compiles previously unreleased live tracks by: Kevin Bartlett, Bionaut, Jeff Grienke, The Ministry of Inside Things, Ben Neill, Robert Rich and Steve Roach. The Gatherings anthology disc is available for a modest donation to CIMA of PA at the next and future Gatherings concerts. Please access The Gatherings CD webpage for full details.
