From Southern California comes the duo of Dean De Benedictis and Vic Hennegan to make their Philadelphia concet debut in the remarkable setting of St. Mary's Hamilton Village as part of The Gatherings Concert Series on Saturday 18 October 2008.

Dean De Benedictis Dean De Benedictis makes an introspective brand of electronica full of literary and mystical references. His musical work is one of continued engagement. With clear phrasing, pacing and feeling his realizations are infused with both thought and spirit. De Benedictis records under his own name and as Surface 10, and founded an electronic community in Los Angeles called the Fateless Flows Collective.

In 1996 De Benedictis released a self-titled debut CD on Hypnotic Records under the alias Surface 10, gaining him wide recognition in the electronic ambient genre.

Subsequent releases with DiN, Space for Music and Spotted Peccary were his testament to the electronic music world and epitomized the mystery of existence through technology. The dense layers of texture frequently part to reveal astonishing knots of melody lurking beneath the surface. Each track slides between themes in dazzling attention to detail, and rewards repeated listening. But this music is more than mere techno-gimmickry. De Benedictis infuses his music with an emotional content that defies its cutting edge methodology by projecting a series of personal moments and experiences onto the sonic canvas.

Dean De Benedictis will make his east-coast concert debut performing with Vic Hennegan at The Gatherings Concert Series on Saturday 18 October 2008.

Vic Hennegan Vic Hennegan grew up on the progressive rock of Genesis and space music by Tangerine Dream that he heard on the local college radio station, WXPN. Now he works in Los Angeles, creating music ranging from techno grooves to ambient chill.

Originally from Philadelphia, Hennegan spent his early career performing in rock bands in New York City. After relocating to Los Angeles, he became a permanent fixture as performer on the desert rave scene. His spellbinding anthems and inspired dance floor rituals led him to a more enlightened perspective, and he has since traveled a deeper musical path.

A deeply spiritual vibration resonates throughout Hennegan's music. His CD Desert God brings a rich texture of sound to the forefront. Hennegan has the ability to absorb and translate the beauty of his surroundings into a wondrous musical expression.

Vic Hennegan is a member of The Fateless Flows Collective, the largest experimental electronic music community in Los Angeles. His music has been aired on Star's End, and nationally on Music from the Hearts of Space and Echoes. Hennegan has also been the subject of multiple interviews with Echoes and performed live for their on-air Living Room Concerts series. His live track "Soundscape for Echoes" was included on the Echoes Living Room Concerts compilation CD, Refractions.

Vic Hennegan will make his east-coast concert debut performing with Dean De Benedictis at The Gatherings Concert Series on Saturday 18 October 2008.
